IMO Ferrell and Bryant coming back seals the fate of Yeargin

Jan 13, 2018, 8:54 PM

I think the next domino to fall is that Yeargin transfers out. If he's fully healthy, he good enough to start at most Power 5 schools. He's not gonna want to sit behind Bryant and Ferrell for his last year of college eligibility if he wants any chance of getting on NFL radars. He needs starts and significant playing time to get any type of shine.

Seems that was the reason Pagano left as well.***

Pagano made a huge mistake. He would have been a big part of the rotation this year, and he did jack squat at Oregon. Yeargin will get plenty of playing time next year.

I think we could see 3-4 transfers in the next 6 months

You mean 3 to 4 in all, right?

I hope not, but that is always possible.

I don’t think so. This will give Coach V an opportunity most don’t have in keeping our D fresh. Those guys will rotate so often that it could actually be healthy in that they won’t be overworked and mess up causing an injury. Everyone will get playing time and these leaders can help teach our new recruits coming in

He will get a good but of snaps but he may want to start somewhere. Idk I think he will be a big part of our D this year.

yeargin has already taken a RS. 17 was his RS jr season, so 18 becomes his RS Sr season. yes, there is a "possibility" he can get a hardship waiver for a 6th season but that is never a given. unless he can grad this summer, he'd have to sit out a year if he went to another power 5 school. so even if he got a hardship.. he sit this year and play in 19, having been away from the game 2 years. think his best bet is to stay here.. get some backup reps and maybe play some special teams.
