OSU had 22 players out for the Sugar Bowl. Apparently the 21 day period will not be up before the game. Did I also hear where they may change that rule. How can that be done? Would the opposing team not be consulted before this was done. Quite honestly, it probably doesn’t matter.

Have you noticed that the best disciplined teams seem to have less problems with Covid. I think our neighbors in Columbia also have issues.

so those players will be eligible to play in the Sugar Bowl which came as a surprise to absolutely no one.

true but the ACC would fall all over themselves to do that for nonmember ND which to me is even worse

Bucknuts. The Big 10 knows which side of the Ohio State bum their bread is buttered on. They could have saved themselves a lot of embarrassment and public ridicule if they had just kept these optional rulz a secret before the season.

Big 10 changed it to 17 days.

I would hope that every player must be tested a day prior to the game and show negative results before the travel to the game.

40+ players those 22 came in contact with...and their test results. I can't fathom the other B1G members can condone how the conference has manipulated and cow-towed for tOSU to keep those 'seeds' in germinate mode.

By the way, why didn't the B1G support Indiana's case to be in a NY6 game?

The new Big10 rule is 17 days and no, opposing teams should not be worried about that from a health perspective. The 21-day rule was the most restrictive in the country, and 17 is still more than most other conferences. The ACC rule is 10 days.

The CDC restrictions are even less in many cases.

It's obvious the Big10 is manipulating rules to benefit one specific member, but it's not a health risk.

My concern with this is that they get our players sick and we are missing players for Bama

Why are you concerned about that? The Big10 established the most stringent testing rules and longest isolation requirements of any conference in the country. That's the only way they got the presidents to agree to start the season.

Also, there is not a single documented case anywhere - college or NFL - of Covid being transmitted from one player to another in a game.
