'For Cause' out? It's not a good look...especially in light of the Maryland death. Given dissatisfaction in Tallahassee, my sense is any justifiable reason to drop Taggart is being reviewed and this could be quite convenient.

happening at FSU. I don't think what happened in Oregon, but their coach, with a former strength coach involved, would give them just cause. Maybe I'm wrong, but it would certainly be difficult. I know they want him gone asap. Hey, it's worth a shot I guess. But would be much easier to call him out for something done at FSU.

When has FSU in the last decade given a darn about doing things the right way? They might can Taggart, but not because of these allegations. They'll dump him because he stinks as a coach. But, as you suggest, the story will serve as an excuse.

If FSU is sold on Taggart, they could wait and see how the lawsuit works out, but that would risk keeping him another year.
Considering we don't know the complete story, I would think it would be beneficial for FSU to start its own investigation if they have not already done so.

This should not be a surprise to FSU and they most likely did their own investigation before making the hire. So my guess is no, this will not be a "for cause" out for the Criminoles.
