But do make sure you get your colon screening at age 50, no later. And don't do the home test, man up and get the real colonoscopy. It's better, more thorough, and much more accurate. Don't leave a medical procedure to chance.

You are spot on Sir!
Now, if only the insurance payers would get on board with this, it would make life better.

I was going more old school...the generic 50 as a public announcement because many put off until it is too late. As you know, colon polyps are quite, until they are not.

I had a colonoscopy this morning. It's nothing I look forward to, but I feel it's very necessary. Previously, I've had polyps, but today I had none and it made my day!

I had one at 50 at it saved my life

I had 1st stage cancer. Surgery and no more problems. If I would have waited till symptoms showed up after it spread, I might not be here. That was 7 years ago.

Colon cancer is the second most deadly cancer.
Colon cancer is largely preventable because almost all colon cancer starts with non cancerous polyps that can be removed with a colonoscopy.
about 1 in 20 will get it in their lifetime, that is a lot!

Great post! If it gets one to get screened, much much gratitude to you. Many men think it’s a “violation” when in reality it’s the best sleep ever!

Over my latter years, I've had several. Last year, of the many polyps they found, one was on the mouth of my appendix, forcing an appendectomy. Doc said that the polyp was not an issue, but the membrane around my appendix was rotten and about to rupture. if it had ruptured, it probably would have killed me. Colonoscopies are not fun, but they are life savers!

As heavy as my periods are, I bet your colon is twice as heavy.

I’ve heard people with ellipsis conditions have triple the flow of a normal period.

Scary, man. Scary.
