Why should we stand there and sing praises to the almighty

US federal government before football games anyway? I always found it pretty strange.
"Hey we're about to have a great football game, we're going to pray to the God we pretend to worship and then sing praises to the god that we actually worship!"
Doesn't make sense to me.

Geez. I can't believe one thinks like this. It's the anthem to our country, not the government. Don't like it, you and the athletes, liberals can move somewhere else. Many of us will help you pack. Or you can get Whoopi and Fatso to advise you.

this is the very foundation of the problem in your understanding
the USA was founded upon popular sovereignty. this was a very different concept from the European status quo and remains historically unique. if you do not comprehend popular sovereignty do look it up and co template upon it. when you have, you will realize why we honor our nation and those in each generation upon whose shoulders this nation was built and sustained. you will also begin to lose some of your mindless cynicism.

Just to be clear, the symbol "!=" means "not equal to", as in "<>"
Is that what you meant?

While it is a symbol it repsents our nation! Only when it is displayed in the midst of other flags is it perhaps viewed as a governmental or political icon. So please get your "facts" straight before posting. The flag represents the people and or citizens of a sovereign nation state who elect a government thru their privilege of voting. Respect it for all it represents, especially when considering how men and women gave their lives to uphold the freedoms and values instilled in it.

Something tells me you wouldn't understand much about the sacrifices made by the men who take umbrage to your comment. Nice avatar BTW, not overly suprising.

boys with a basement room in their mother's house.
You have an Anarchist image, which in of itself causes you to lose any credibility.
You think you have the answers; however, if you had to have a face to face conversation about world politics, globalization, world trade and economics, etc., you would be f'ing lost.
You have no idea just how ignorant you are.
