I mean, don't get me wrong. He was a great RB...

but he never played in the SEC. SC was homeless when he was there.

I get your point the ACC does that w hoops too.

I always thought the other back on the team then Wright was better but he blew out a knee early and was never quite the same after

Johnnie Wright was a good back.

that was back in the day when everyone ran the "I" or the option and WR's led the leagues in receptions with about 40 if they were lucky.

another example of their insecurity/inferiority complex

Rogers was simply the best RB i've ever seen in CFB. 225 lbs. that could run over you or past you with mediocre blocking. I'd take him over Walker and Sanders in terms of college and he was on the way to being a beast in the NFL before coke got him in New Orleans. Having said that, he never played a down in the SEC and it's yet another example of the Chickens still scratching on the door of acceptance in the CFB world. They will, and always will be, followers and wannabes.

that's valid but i've always considered the OL's

Nov 2, 2013, 1:44 PM

he ran behind. I grit my teeth every time this subject comes up because there isn't anyone in the world who despises USuCk more than I do but that guy was a beast. Bo was also, obviously.

hugh green should have gotten the heisman the year rogers won it. he had some insane defensive numbers and immeasurables.

He had drug problems...that makes him de facto SEC material even though he played over a decade before they joined the SEC.

I wonder if the persons who said Johnny Wright was better than Rogers and that Green should have won the Heisman.. just sitting here wondering if they know how stupid they sound.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

tell me why green shouldn't have won .please enlighten me

Nov 2, 2013, 2:13 PM

do you know how homer you sound?

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I was talking with a former Clemson and SCAR assistant coach

Nov 2, 2013, 2:27 PM

a couple of weeks ago, and he was talking about Rogers' game against NC State and how there were plays where Rogers was walking back to huddle up and he would pass 2-3 NCSU defenders who he ran over and were still lying on the ground.
