How is 2-8 USuCk going to a bowl?!!!

SEC has a ton of non deserving teams going. If there isn't enough deserving teams to go around, then cancel a few bowls. A 2-8 team getting a invite is a mockery of the whole bowl system. SEC bring in that bowl revenue while the ACC is checking out, waiting on that Clemson/ND money to come in.

opted out of going to a bowl. The half-asss bowls are desperate for teams to play.

The bowls ran out of teams. Birmingham bowl cancelled due to that. Opt outs and conferences that didn't play at all made for more bowls than any teams that could play. Welcome to 2020. Coots are a solid TV audience which the sponsors like. Their fanbase also travels well but that doesn't matter this year.

A few things

1) These aren’t at large bids that the SEC is taking - they are the conference tie-ins that they have contracts with. They are going to be money losers.
2) SEC got 3 NY6 day bowls - this is where the $ comes from and the othe conferences got screwed particularly the B10 this year
3)the playoff teams don’t really earn $ for the conferences. The ACC having 2 is no diff really than the SEC having 1 or the B12 having 0. The playoff revenue is split evenly among the P5 and ND and the G5 get smaller shares. There is higher $ paid to the conf/teams to cover expenses but Clemson usually loses $ there. That leaves a few mil for the conference but nothing comparable to the $20-40mil payouts of the NY6 bowls
4)the ACC had a # of teams that could have gone bowling if they wanted and/or their tie-ins didn’t get canceled
