Lunch planning for today

Sep 25, 2015, 9:11 AM

After yesterday afternoon, there is a glimmer of hope that lunches for me in Charleston are numbered, so I guess I need to start making them more memorable.

Where to go today? I'm thinking a greasy burger at the Windjammer, but its kinda nasty out out, so maybe just Bojangles (NOT very memorable).

What are your plans?

Perfectly Franks in Summerville

Road House today, since I'll be eating airport food the rest of the weekend. Thankfully there is a Chick Fil A in most of them now.

DC then on to Chicago

Sep 25, 2015, 10:08 AM

For what should only be 2-3 hours worth of work. Have a run-off Sunday I've got to be there for though. It was either this weekend or next, and I wasn't trying to miss the Notre Dame game.

I've spent enough time in Chicago this year to last me a lifetime. At least it isn't cold yet.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This might be the first year in 6 years (and hopefully

Sep 25, 2015, 10:14 AM

teh last) that I don't have to go to CHi in the winter.

Thank TOM for that.

I really don't understand why people live there. I was getting a rental last year in Midway in the parking deck, its about 8 degrees out, snowing and blowing about 20 knots. The chick from the car rental place has to come out there and look at the car, have me sign the contract etc, and I genuinely felt sorry for her--that's just miserable to have to work in. She said she had just gotten transferred from FLA and it was 75 degrees the week before.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't get it either, I guess if you just don't ever

Sep 25, 2015, 10:31 AM

go outside it's OK, but even still, that's just way too many people to deal with.

Earlier this year, I was on Hartwell one day in 80 degree weather, then flew up the next day to snow and frozen bodies of water. And as much as they make fun of southerners, they aren't good at driving in the snow either.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would just be ill all the time if I had to live in that

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sep 25, 2015, 10:44 AM

I've yet to see the sun come out in Detroit. I go there two or three times a year, and have never seen a pretty day.

If I liked pimento cheese, that is what I'd do.

Sep 25, 2015, 10:34 AM

Fry the bologna then put in in the middle of a grilled pimento cheese sandwich.
