For those with 2016 national champ coke cans

Jul 1, 2018, 4:55 PM

This is not a post about how they look, but rather, if you have any, you may want to check to make sure they haven’t leaked. I knew they may eventually faill, and I have the bottles as well. However, several of the cans have already leaked and left a mess to clean up (no pop or signal it had happened), even though they were in a room with a/c and heat. Just a friendly tip. Winning titles comes with its problems I guess ??, but I’ll take the winning. Go Tigers!

And THAT is exactly why I didn't buy the after-thought cans and held out for the tiny disappointing-of-an-effort bottles. Didn't expect leaks to start happening this soon though. My '81 Orange Soda cans eventually all leaked but my '81 Coke bottle is still intact.

Same, but the orange soda cans still look really cool.

My one remaining '81 can remains pristine...the others leaked but were drained from the bottom and look OK (but empty). My half dozen '81 filled bottles are also pristine...knew the man from Laurens Glass that designed them. They are on display for my enjoyment and for others to wish they had them :)

My ‘81 Orange Soda made it until about 5 years ago, then sprayed a rack of clothes in my closet. Go with the bottles would be my suggestion.

I had a leak as well, with no visible hole in the can. Just a puddle of syrup. Anyone with cans should place them in a dish - or throw them away.

Guess I'll be drinking a lot of phosphoric acid this summer.

I had Clemson Orange soda can memories to learn from. I savored every drop this time around. Clemson Championship Coca-Cola.

Yep, I had a mess to clean up about two months ago. Funny

I still have 1981 orange soda cans that have not leaked.

EASY TO SOLVE. DRINK THE COKE,WASH THE CAN OUT ,AND KEEP THE EMPTY CAN.MY HAS NOT LEAKED BECAUSE IT IS EMPTY.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

threw our cans away but kept the bottles

Jul 1, 2018, 6:56 PM

Just making too much of a mess so it wasn't worth it. We did keep a couple of empty cans.

2 of my 6-pack eroded the bottoms and completely leaked. Different months. Tossed the rest..... beware.

Had my 1 can and 6 bottles in the closet... Last weekend I was looking through the back of my closet for dress shirts and all of my button ups had coke from that can on them. Luckily it was sitting on top of a box on the shelf and the box (cheap Bluetooth speaker) soaked a lot of it in. The insides of the box were covered in mold, gross. Anyways, got rid of the can and box and moved the 6 pack of bottles for precaution. Also, I was very lucky that it didn't get on any of the memorabilia from the season as well. All the mags, programs and Tim Bourret's book was right next to the spill untouched. Whew

Thought it was a prank from my coot grad cousin. Hadn’t spoken to him since and even avoided the gas station where he pumps gas. May give him a call tonight.

A problem coots will never have to worry about.***

very small hole in the bottom and drained them so that would happen. Makes sense because you really don't want the can to degrade due to the acid, etc...
