in 2017 NC State lost to the coots on opening weekend and then won 6 straight before losing to Notre Dame, Clemson and Wake Forest. They entered back into the top 25 after beating Arizona State in the Sun Bowl. So, while it wasn't a top 25 win when they played, Muschamp can say he beat a team that finished the season ranked.

coot Dantonio took their CFP appearance from a few years ago and cratered the program. I dont follow them closely but I live in Big 10 region and see them enough I'd a bit surprised. Not upset by it though

Call me crazy, but I thought Clemson's record for the last three years is 14-1 against teams that finished ranked in the final AP Poll.
2016, only lost to Pittsburgh...not in final AP poll
2017, lost to Syracuse and Bama...only Bama in final poll
2018, no losses.
Yes, we still lost, but per the criteria of games against opponents that were ranked in the final AP poll, it should be 14-1.

Not exactly sure on this point, but it could be the compiler has included an Alabama moral victory over us due to the fact they were tired?
