Flight Tips Wanted

Dec 2, 2018, 4:25 PM

If anyone has any insight on flight deals for Dallas please share. Looking to fly down either Friday evening/Saturday early morning and fly back on Sunday anytime. Usually I am on top of travel planning, but I slacked a bit for this game and I may have to pay for it..

Check out Sourhwest or Delta out of Atlanta. Usually the best prices.

Fly to Love Field which is Southwest’s hub. Delta flies there as well. DFW is closer to the stadium, but you will likely rent a car and Love Field is so much easier to deal with.

I was just going to my old college football web site. Both the Cotton Bowl and Southwest Airlines make their home in Dallas. Hands down, you'll get the cheapest tickets flying Southwest. They fly out of Atlanta.

Where is your origin? Are you in Clemson or thereabouts? If so, drive to ATL.

I just checked and there are plenty of good flights on Delta for around $400. You may also want to try Birmingham or Charlotte.

Houston prices are more reasonable.***

The best we found from GSP was roughly $900 round trip on Southwest. A lot of flights jumped from $800 to well over $1000 around 2:00 this afternoon. A Dallas trip would cost us more than twice as much as the Orange Bowl, even allowing for a couple of days with the Mouse had we gone to Florida.

you Might want to try

Flying into Houston, Austin, or Shreveport. These are not bad drives. Also try from Charlotte.
I also think it’s possible costs will go down a little in a couple of days. I booked ours last week and they’re now going for almost $2000 even though there are a lot of seats left. I wonder if the airline computers automatically bump the price based on heavy bookings - even when there are many seats left.

Thanks for this. I checked Houston but never considered Austin or Shreveport. Very reasonable tickets to both out of Atlanta.
