Dec 10, 2020, 7:02 PM

This is big news. Word is they got 300 million a year at minimum. CBS was paying 55 mil a year. Huge increase for SEC. SEC schools are going to be lapping rest of the schools in money. They will also likely take over the ABC prime time game. Mandel said this may very well cost the ACC their deal with ESPN.

Yeah, more million dollar chicken statues and multi-million dollar coaching buy-outs for the coots.

Gary will replace Corso when he retires so he can talk nonstop about Bama on GameDay and put that elephant mascot head on.

Sounds like the 3:30 game on ABC will be a regular SEC game too. BIG 12 and Big 10 have Fox. ACC is going to lose out big time.

Sounds like they wanted the good rivalries like Bama-Auburn and UGA-Florida too. IMO Another reason for the ACC to switch to North/South divisions to create a larger inventory of border rivalry games that fans want to see each year. For example having a Clemson vs Miami game every year is more exciting for fans to watch than Clemson vs. BC or Syracuse

I thought ESPN was bleeding money?

I assumed all the conferences were going to start getting less money because of what’s been going on.

ESPN Dropped a 6x Nuclear Bomb on CBS

Dec 10, 2020, 7:53 PM

$300 million PER YEAR for 10 years.

If enough chump change is tossed in to satisfy CBS, this could transition earlier than 2024.

Notre Dame is going to plunder NBC in a couple of years when they renegotiate their media deal.

CBS is going to need a conference to televise. ACC?

Will CBS desire ACC for basketball and take football along with it? How does the ACC get loose of ESPN anyhow? Wasn’t the deal with the ACCN creation a long term contract across all Disney platforms?

First thing ACC needs to do is get rid of Dead weight WF and add WV then

WV? Not currently a member of the conference and doubt they will be due to poor academics. Wake Forest is not on your list. What happened to Wake? Personally WF shouldn't be in the ACC because they are so small but no one asked me.

yes I think the acc should call cbs this would be huge for the acc to get their games on cbs as the game of the week instead of fox sports south like the pitt and Georgia tech was on lst night but knowing the cbs they might go with the mountain west, conference usa or the aac for college football games.
