Sadly, as a child (a few years after our football national championship), I remember a Sports Illustrated cover of all the major league baseball players making a million or more a year. It was about 20 players and included such greats as Mike Schmidt, Dale Murphy (my hero), Reggie Jackson, Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, etc. I wish my salary since 1995 would have increased at the same rate as MLB players today!!

I remember that same SI issue and Murphy was my favorite player too!

I also remember how special it was to see a game on TV back then. Now we are spoiled with virtually every baseball and football game available to watch.
