New Story: Showcase game helps offensive stats, not defensive ones

Showcase game helps offensive stats, not defensive ones

The game of the year so far in college football certainly helped Clemson’s offensive numbers after it won a shootout with Louisville on Saturday night. But the 42-36 Tigers win damaged the team’s defensive stats somewhat. Full Story »

With an offense that is built to help defensive stats for the opposing team :)

Exactly. I thought it was the best game our defense has played all year. The offense deserves some of the blame for those stats.

With 5 turnovers the defense was on the field 3/4 of the game. It's surprising that the defense didn't come out worse. Never fear that was easily the best offense we will see all year. in 2014 our defense didn't start out very good but by years end they were #1 in almost every category. That was probably the first or second best defense we will face all year as well. The stats will start to sky rocket from here on out. Go Tigers.

Most important Defensive stat...5-0

Stats don't win games. The trophy will read simply 2016 National Champs. Let the so-called "experts" squawk about stats. There will be no mention of stats on that trophy. This team is head an shoulders above every one. Champions make plays when the chips are down and everything is on the line and that is what this team is about, and that is what they do. Putting all the chips on the table and walking away with the victory, That is ALL IN -ALL THE TIME! That is what the mighty mighty Tigers of Clemson does better than everyone else! GO TIGERS!!!

Im sure Louisville would because theyre behind Clemson in D stats. They were ranked 13th in total D while we were ranked 3-4, we put up just as gaudy numbers on them as they did on us. Go Tigers! ! !

Amazing what can happen when you KICK IT THROUGH THE ENDZONE!

The #1 ranking is not based on how many we kick through the endzone. Only the kickoffs they chose to run are counted in the statistic. When they do return, we are #1 in limiting the yardage @ merely 13.58 yards.

stats

Are determined by the teams that you play. Lville was scoring around 60 a game in the early season but the Clemson defense reduced that number considerably!

ANY team that plays Louisville is going to have their defensive stats dented. Special teams has improved immensely and the offense is starting to pick it up, just have to cut out the turnovers.
