Dumb, but honest question.

Nov 4, 2020, 12:26 PM

I'm independent, don't really care much for Biden or Trump. I didn't vote for Kanye. I just love our country and am an American.
Suppose the mail in votes that are being counted through tomorrow give Biden a slight, slight edge and just enough for 270. If I understand properly, military and other absentee ballots can arrive up until early next week and be counted legally. Is there even a chance that this could, in turn, sway the election back to Trump? For lack of words, have the military votes ever counted toward making a big difference in the election?

I've always wondered this since I consider the military votes the most important for our country as they are the real MVPs. Would be some made for tv drama if that ever happened.

Thanks in advance!

TN,

Military absentee ballots are large in significance but relatively small in number - especially being generally spread across all of the states. I don't think they have ever been the deciding factor nor are they likely to be this year.

However, any state that IS close enough for them TO make a difference is probably going to be subject to a recount anyway - at which point, I would think the military ballots would be included.

Tobias and Tiggity,
Thanks for your quick responses. Always wondered about their votes, but it never seemed to come up. 2020 would be the year that the votes end up close enough for those to go into play. :)

If it were up to me, the military votes would count triple, but obviously that's unrealistic.

Thanks again and here's hoping for unity, freedom, peace, and healing for our country moving forward!

Go USA!!
