Aug 20, 2020, 10:25 PM

Who do you have?

Donnell Woolford

Was consensus All American (along with Deion Sanders) in 1988

11th pick in the draft

10 yr NFL career.

Have to agree with Woolford

Justin Miller had the best freshman year I’d seen out of a Clemson corner. It was a shame he regressed. I think he added too much muscle

Justin Miller was an awesome return man!***

That I saw play...MacKenzie Alexander.

LOVED his style of play and attitude.

I thought it was CRAZY how he literally SHUT DOWN star wideouts and believe we probably beat Bama the first time if he doesn't go out with a hamstring injury.

Crazy he didn't have any interceptions in college but didn't matter. Whoever he was on that night was in for a match - the only time I remember him getting beat was a slip and fall against FSU.

Liked watching Mullen and Terrell team up, too.

Heard Justin Miller was pretty good back in the day and Tye Hill but don't really remember them or many past names that come to mind as far as CBs before pre-Dabo times

Alexander was an amazing talent. I believe we could have won

Aug 20, 2020, 10:48 PM

That championship if he was playing.

I can’t wait to see our corners this year. DK has a shot to be one of the best. Also really excited about Booth. Should be a solid duo

Donnell Woolford, absolutely, but let's not forget Brian Dawkins, he was pretty good, too!

MacKenzie Alexander Could shut anybody down, Deandre McDaniel too but we played the best with Mackensie and he could handle the island play after play!

All you young bucks don’t remember Charlie Waters. He went on to have a very successful career for the cowboys.

I hate the Cowboys. But, have to admit, Charlie Waters

Aug 21, 2020, 10:31 AM

was irritatingly consistently good for them. :)

Re: Who would you say is the best cb in Clemson history?

Aug 21, 2020, 11:14 AM [ in reply to Re: Who would you say is the best cb in Clemson history? ]

Charlie was a great spit end at Clemson and all pro strong safety for the Cowboys. He was all pro in 77 and 78 and made the pro bowl in 77,78, and 79. This made him one of the top defensive players in the NFL in the 70's.

Waters played 12 seasons in the NFL, never experienced a losing season and only missed the playoffs once (1974) during that span. He played in five Super Bowls: V, VI, X, XII, and XIII, with victories in VI and XII. He holds the NFL record for most playoff interceptions with 9, including 3 in one playoff game, and has the unique achievement of blocking 4 punts in 2 consecutive games. He also was team's holder for placekicks.
