Do you like having the opportunity of a rematch?

Dec 15, 2020, 12:09 PM

Or would you prefer the ACC to have divisions similar to when Bama won the Natty in 2017?

If ND was in the Atlantic Division, then they would be playing UNC this weekend, for example.

Clemson would just be chilling waiting to see who we would be facing in the Rose Bowl Playoff Game. It would be a MASSIVE advantage for Clemson to not have to play this game, but it's a more fair way to do it.

**I think it makes it a more difficult path the way the ACC set it up this year as opposed to the Big 10 and SEC with divisions. But, it provides a more truthful champion.

Not to take away from the main point of your question but Notre Dame would be playing Miami.

UNC finished the year with 3 ACC losses and Miami with only 2.

Ah yes... ND vs Miami in a traditional year.***

Yes - we played them shorthanded the first time so.......

I want to see how bad we can beat them at near full strength.

Just my take, but if Notre Dame were in the ACC, the divisions were probably be split into a North vs South with Notre Dame in the North and Clemson in the South.
Of course another team would need to be added before deciding on which teams are in the North and which teams are in the South.

I like the 2 best teams playing more than the 2 division winners. If ND joins ACC, I don't think we would have divisions because of the odd number of teams.

the thought of a Clemson third “rubber” match with Notre Dame!

According to the ESPN talking heads, if Clemson wins the ACCCG, a 1 loss ND is still in the CFP top four. So say Bama & OSU win.
We have:
1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. Notre Dame
4. OSU

Results in Bama v OSU and Clemson v ND!

I know Bama & LSU played twice one year but is anyone aware of teams playing each other three times?

Go Tigers!

Absolutely! Rare that you get to avenge a loss earlier in the season. Eliminates the ND fans “yeah but we beat you though” carp. If we have a 3rd matchup, great. 2-1 is even better.
