Zero cases of COVID-19

in the Atlantic Bubble (Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada) in the last six weeks. How did they achieve this. It's very simple, a $1000.00 fine for not wearing a face mask and mandated social distancing. They have closed all travel into these four Provinces and if you must leave or come into this area there is a 14 day isolation mandate.(I have a friend who lives in Trullo, Nova Scotia, Canada much of this information comes from weekly phone calls with him.) If we had done this in March in the US, today there would be no questions about college football, fans would be in the stands and bands would be on the field. A couple of other benefits we have missed would be; no one dying from COVID, there would not be over a 1000 new people getting sick everyday and our children would not be developing a new multi-symptom disease. But in America we have rights to do whatever we want to do, no matter how it affects other people. If you question any facts mentioned here look it up.

Eliminating traffic into the country should have been a top priority. Why wasn’t it done????

Had the US shut down completely for two weeks and stopped the virus, China would have sent more infected people over to get it started again. Wash, rinse, repeat. Until November.

exactly, then bigfoots would contract it, causing them to become aggressive and start attacking people unprovoked. You have to give the Chinese credit, crippling a consumer economy that they themselves are dependent on was an incredible piece of geopolitical posturing on their part.

i don't disagree that they will take any advantage they can, but under no uncertain terms does this pandemic improve their situation or standing in the world. To suggest that they intentionally unleashed this virus to undermine the world economy is crazy talk.

Shutting down New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I & Newfoundland is one thing. Population of ~ 3 million, PEI & Newfoundland are Islands and Nova Scotia only adjoins NB. NB has an International border with Maine and a provincial border with Quebec. When starting from a point of an isolated area with a low density population, it isn’t very hard to further isolate them.
Shutting down the largest and most diverse economic power in the history of the world is something completely different.
On the other hand, I would be willing to shutdown North & South Dakota, if that would fix everything.

To bring the picture a little more into focus. California’s economy (just California alone) is nearly double Canada’s economy.

Or we could just live life and be healthy and trust our bodies to fight off the virus if we get it. If you have health issues social distance and wear a mask. If you do not stop being scared of a freaking virus.

I believe in science. The numbers show the odds of me getting sick from this are slim and the odds of me dying from it are far slimmer. The positive and negative results on test are inaccurate so there is no way to really know who has it and who doesn't or what it is doing to people. People get tested one day positive and the next negative. Some people say they get sick for a day and then are fine while others say they are sick for weeks. A lot of the stuff we hear about this is crap. Weinstein on JRE certainly helped me understand the virus and what it is and it is certainly a real thing and something that can harm people but it is not anything I am worried about enough to shut down my life. I wear a mask though because we are suppose to and asked to but I am allowed to believe it is not serving me much purpose.

Well it's good you wear a mask. Well done. If you do believe in science, there is a lot of data out there to confirm it works.
My wife's aunt died of COVID. My wife's father struggled but survived. 150K people are dead in 5 months.
Dude, if you believe it's no big deal then I don't know what to say.

I do not believe it isn't a big deal. I believe for most people it is not something you should fear like the media is pushing. I believe the test results are compete bs and that we are telling people they are positive when they are not. I am sorry for your family losing somebody from it. I believe it is a virus that can kill people with health problems or that are elderly but I do not believe we should be shutting places down and not letting kids go to school. Just my opinion. I dont want my kids to wear a mask all day at school if they can go just because they might get sick. I dont want to wear a mask all day at work. I dont want our clients to have to wait in the car while their dog or cat comes in to be seen. Our society is going to lose connection with each other if we keep living like this. I will do whatever we are told to do though ofcourse but I dont believe it is the right thing.

False positives aren't an issue. Dunno what you're talking about.
You're talking out of both sides of your mouth.
"I do not believe it isn't a big deal"
"I believe it is a virus that can kill people with health problems or that are elderly but I do not believe we should be shutting places down and not letting kids go to school"
Just admit that you don't think it's a big deal. It's ok man.

Same. I have been to restaurants, plenty of stores, golfing, birthday parties, among other things but I have yet to get sick or known anybody to get very ill from the virus. Maybe I'm just lucky and it will get me soon idk.

NYC, Chicago, Boston- big cities w big high rises. You cant fully stop it there. And you've got an anti mask crowd in Wisc looking to stop their mask orders. As long as you have a bunch of wholes that think its all about them your efforts are thwarted

Dems narrative today: Trump wasn't proactive
Aug 3, 2020, 3:32 AM
|
|
Trump caused thousands of deaths.
But look at the narrative when Trump shut down the initial travel to China
Biden tweeted: "We are in the midst of a crisis with the coronavirus. We need to lead the way with science — not Donald Trump's record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering. He is the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health emergency."
He tried to make Trump look bad the first of Feb for not having enough science to back the closing of travel.
Blows my mind how people forget narratives. Today Mr. Trump wasn't proactive enough initially and the freaking fake news just rides that agenda train and takes whatever lying rail that makes Trump out to be the bad guy?!! But what amazes me more is the idiots that buy it hook, line, sinker. Don't they have memories where they recall what was said and how it changes as time passes to fit the new narratives.
I'm really concerned for this country. Please help us. I'm starting to understand why dictatorship and King's Rule worked for so many years. Why castration stopped rape and pedophilia, and cutting off hands stopped thievery! This no recourse, no response, no action warranted accepted by democratic states is ludicrous. The citizens that peacefully lived there and couldn't be comfortable in their own homes shoe class action sue the Mayors and Governors for everything they could. Those dems are criminals, lack of responsibility, lack of protecting their citizens. What a chit show!

Biden likely tweeted that because Trump didn't shut down travel from China, he shut down travel for Chinese people from China. Americans were flowing in by the hundreds of thousands in the months of February and March. Worst travel ban...ever?

Because "people are going to do whatever people are going to do." That's what Mrs Pelosi said. Look it up.
Oh, I'm sorry. The context for that question wasn't "How do we get hard-working, freedom-loving, church-going, and law-abiding people to sit at home and not spread the virus?"
That was the answer to vandalism, mass gatherings, and "mostly peaceful" protests surrounding statues.
See, some people's behaviors need to be discouraged. Others can do what they want.
