They've tried hiring coaches with a successful history.

Now they are going to hire the SON of a successful head coach. Allow him to improve the team, but never get over the hump...then hire a position coach that the son of a successful head coach has on staff.

They read it worked some place before.

The son of a guy who was successful in the previous century, but did not adapt to the modern game well. Frank Beamer's love affair with playing defensive ends at QB destroyed that program.
