Coaches don't muff punts, throw INTs, or fumble the ball.

Nov 30, 2013, 11:25 PM

All you people blaming the coach need to hit the road.

Losing sucks. Having to deal with fair weather fans who can't deal with it is even worse. Does losing suck? Sure. But last time I checked, none of you were in the game, or on the sideline.

coaches prepare teams..

Nov 30, 2013, 11:26 PM

and teach fundamentals to prevent stuff like that from happening..we saw it against fsu and we saw it tonight.our guys were not composed and looked lost.its on the coaches.also our defense could not stop a dang qb draw.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Really?

Nov 30, 2013, 11:28 PM

Do you really think the coaches have to teach the players to hold onto the ball?

If so, we have seriously under recruited....

BRING IT!

well..

Nov 30, 2013, 11:29 PM

fumbling and so on is a sign of an under prepared rattled team.maybe at some point dabo will actually get some heat for losing to our RIVALs every year. but all is good.we get ten wins each year against crappy teams though.so all is good.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Fumbling is a sign of bad play....not bad coaching...

Nov 30, 2013, 11:31 PM

I have never seen a coach teach his players how to fumble.

You ever played?

Nov 30, 2013, 11:49 PM

We use to have drills every practice on how to secure the ball, how the field punts, and how to tackle. So yes it does go back to coaching.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

when i played..

Nov 30, 2013, 11:55 PM

our coaches would put Vaseline on a football.and make us toss it around.if you can hold on to a football with that one it.you can def hang onto it while its dry.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

they have nothing to do with that nor the personnel they...

put on the field or even correcting those things at halftime. You're right.

Humphries has been on punt return all year.
Tajh has been lights out for most of his career.

he shouldn't be...

Nov 30, 2013, 11:31 PM

we used to put playmakers on the returns

no. no they dont. but the coaches (specifically the HC)

Nov 30, 2013, 11:27 PM

is responsible for the product put on the field. All of it. It is HIS JOB.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So why do they get credit when we

Nov 30, 2013, 11:27 PM

Run the ball, catch touchdowns, cause turnovers, and win games? Can't have it both ways.

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Coaches give it to the hot hand

Nov 30, 2013, 11:28 PM

This was worse than Bowden taking the ball away from Merriweather

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

coaches prepare a team for a fight so they are ready when

Nov 30, 2013, 11:30 PM

they inevitably get punched in the face...a well coached team doesn't get the deer in the headlights look. the moment is never to big for them because they EXPECT to be there. they EXPECT to be in a fight. ever see a nick saban team in a moment that was too big for them ?? it doesn't mean you win every game, it means you are in every game.

Re: coaches prepare a team for a fight so they are ready when

Nov 30, 2013, 11:43 PM

I agree completely. They are soft. Scared. Not prepared.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I guess 30 plus years of support is fair weather then

Nov 30, 2013, 11:33 PM

I bought the excuse in the fsu game, but mental mstakes and a lack of agression to force our own turnovers comes back to the culture and coaching. This excuse needs to go the way of the "one play away" excuse. I'm not buying it anymore.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I guess 30 plus years of support is fair weather then

Nov 30, 2013, 11:36 PM

I get the frustration. I'm not addressing the likes of you. I'm addressing the folks that jump ship every time the going gets tough.

No question we are better off as a program now than we were under Bowden. We were the better team tonight. But sic turnovers is insurmountable. Period.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You are correct. But coaches do......

Re: Coaches don't muff punts, throw INTs, or fumble the ball.

Nov 30, 2013, 11:35 PM

Wrong. we cant field a fXcking punt for 3 years, because of coaching. This should be obvious. If i had time, I would do a study just to see how terrible we have been in this area. I am going to guess that we are close to last in the nation. Our offense plays like the coots did in the late 90's, like a bunch of finesse women - coaching, not because our players don't want to crush them, but because we play sideways and never run downhill.
