Clemson has offered only 69 of the 2021 Recruits to Tn’s & Nebraska’s 392 ea.

May 8, 2020, 10:39 PM

Saying, they have offered a schollie to every Living High School Kid With Pads On!

Consequently, Clemson ranks 64th or next to last, to Stanford, in offerings but 2nd-5th in recruiting rankings star-power.

Oh, SC has offered 221 players in the 2021 Class which ranks them at 31st busiest recruiter.

That's an amazing, though not surprising, stat.

At least several of those offers were since the California kid wanted to visit and the 2 QB’s went elsewhere because the see they talent here.

It seems that the schools offering that many are desperate. Those are crazy numbers. The recruiters must stay on the phone 24-7 since they can't travel. I quess Nebraska is trying to get back to their glory years after leaving the Big 12 for the B1G. Haven't been relevant since they made that move.

392? It's virtually impossible to remember that many prospects by name much less remember anything about them. That's like casting a minnow net and getting a few with each cast. Dabo and staff do have to resort to a "fall-back" plan because we will miss on some higher on our board. Academic standards at Stanford limits their pool of prospects but they usually fill their class within that small group.

Offering 10+ times the number of kids vs spots

May 9, 2020, 9:52 AM

Renders the “offer” meaningless

I wonder what Clemson’s hit-rate - the number of kids they offer vs land - is in the last 10 years? 30%? 40%?

If so, that’s 3 to 4, maybe even FIVE TIMES better than these other schools!

That’s recruiting. Everyone else is just fishing.

Very few schools have the luxury to only offer a handful of kids. We are one of the lucky ones where we can pick who comes here. Most kids who get an offer from us automatically put us in top 5/10 now. Vs a school like Louisville who knows they’re going to miss on most guys so have to continually offer and sell the school.

Very impressive nonetheless. Glad to be on this side of the fence. Go tigs

Quick nitpick, SC isn’t the 31st “busiest” recruiter.

May 9, 2020, 4:07 PM

I doubt they’re working harder than Clemson...they’re just throwing around offers more haphazardly.

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

For some reason I’m surprised Ga Tech has offered that many

Can you fathom the $$$$$$$$$$$$ offers to these kids whose family has lost their job, home, dignity? "Well, Dorothy...We're not in Kansas anymore"...

but are they COMMITTABLE Offers?

May 10, 2020, 4:12 PM

Offers are reported by the kids, schools can't say.

Often a school tells a kid they want him and even imply that he has an offer but he cannot commit until they hear from some others at his position. The kid says he has an offer. The school can say nothing re.

And yes, Clemson is in a position to SELECT rather than beg. Don't need to offer so many when so many want in.

He can come to Clemson and absorb Christianity or got to LSGoo and be handed a handgun to carry around pretending to be tough.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

they will need to offer more, no way 20 out of 400

May 10, 2020, 5:01 PM

would choose Tenn or Nebraska
