Chop block yesterday on mond

Sep 8, 2019, 11:09 AM

Looked like a clean tackle to me. Several calls or lack there of by the refs yesterday. I guess that what you get from sec refs who didn't want to see there conference take a loss especially against a cup cake conference.

It was but Mond went airborne. I think if he doesnt it was above the knees. That looked like what he was trying to do on the tackle anyway

I think the horse collar was on the left hand which grabbed the collar on the front under the chin of our guy

You're correct, it was actually the guys left hand, that pulled down the front of the jersey.

Yea, It was the defenders inside hand, chest side of the collar. In real time it was obvious on TV, but the replay showed the backside over and over. Correct call.

I don’t know the rule in college, but that would have been a personal foul in pro ball. It was right at the knees.

Pro last year. It looked like it was probably a penalty when I saw the replay in the stadium. It’s still a crappy rule though- there’s only like a foot area where you can hit a qb without penalty

Bad call just like the 4th quarter roughing the passer call

Sep 8, 2019, 12:07 PM

I think the ref had money on the game and needed A&M to cover.

There were bad calls both ways from my vantage point. The long tamu pass was clearly out of bounds. We benefitted from the 12 man safety call and the horse collar call.

Sep 8, 2019, 1:47 PM

I went ballistic when I saw the other refs group and signal safety- some of the players had relaxed due to the whistle. Also it looks like he had forward progress out of the EZ had it been a legit play. Bottom line is this no different than when there is a false start and half the players hear the whistle and half don’t. Horse collar definitely looked legit. Roughing the passer by rule looked legit. The pass on the sidelines looked clearly incomplete and not sure how the back official got to overrule the front side one who said incomplete. Then the replay “stands as called” benefits TAM

People should look up the definitions of a chop block and a horse collar tackle before trying to carry on a discussion about them. Funny how many football fans know nothing about football or it’s rules.

Defensive players committing a chop block? A horse collar tackle from the front? Come on!!!
