Do u think OSU tried to hurt our players?

Not cleanly through hard hitting.

They said they play violent .. so yes.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ABSOLUTELY!!

Jan 1, 2020, 7:58 AM

Their coach told them to "play with violence"

are all violent, contact, and equally as important: competitive sports.

Ask yourself: wouldn’t you think or believe that some of the competitors take it to a higher level because they gain a competitive advantage - if an opponent is injured?

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

Yes, there were some 'suspect' tackles, but on the whole, I thought it was a clean, hard-hitting game. The targeting call, I don't believe, was intentional, but it was the right call. Regardless, has a single Tiger player commented on any dirty action? All the remarks have been about how fun and hard-hitting the game was...and how sore and tired they were afterwards. Pretty sure tOSU players felt the same. The fans, however...well...that won't end...

Absolutely. I am surprised some teams don’t sacrifice guys to get other guys out of the game.

Chase Young definitely was, on the targeting play, grabbing

Jan 1, 2020, 8:07 AM

Trevor by the neck and throwing him down! He should have been ejected, but didn't even get a penalty!

Yes it was hard hitting but it is what we needed for LSU. Hopefully the team will come out with that edge against LSU. It is hard to prepare for that type of game with our schedule this year and I think it surprised the team in the 1st qtr. Hopefully we can turn that on LSU because I do not think they expect that from us with how great the SEC defense supposedly is. And they just played Oklahoma who is the opposite of a physical team.

Do you remember when BB choked out Lamar Jackson ??

Re: Do u think OSU tried to hurt our players?

Football is a violent sport and a part of it is questioning whether you opponent can take the punishment. If you don't think Ben Boulware and Christian Wilkins and the rest of the Tigers played with that in mind, you haven't been watching the games I have.

Have you guys forgotten the hit on Matt Ryan ??

There were a couple of really tough hits but I do not think OSU was dirty. They were very physical as they should be. Our guys know that is part of the game.

Re: Do u think OSU tried to hurt our players?

Jan 1, 2020, 10:42 AM

Yeah, they were dirty, mostly after the plays though. I thought the hitting was mostly clean

Clemson has destroyed Baker Mayfield and FSU's Francois in the past (that poor kid got hammered)

Also remember Bama trying to take out DW4 and Mike Williams in that 2nd natty

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think they were coached to play very aggressively....

Jan 1, 2020, 11:48 AM

and it ended-up backfiring on them and biting them in the @$$.

Re: I think they were coached to play very aggressively....

Jan 1, 2020, 12:54 PM

Bingo! The targeting rule has been in place a while now so players should know how not to tackle, i.e. don't lead with crown. In this case they were obviously playing aggressive and hopeful this would benefit them. It backfired, as did the rest of everything they were trying to do. Bama tried it and failed too. Next up!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No. Can we let them be the deranged paranoids? They dont

The first 3 times we played Alabama in the CFP were extremely dirty. They went directly for DW4's head on several occasions. It was very upsetting. They also targeted ETN's head 2 years ago.

Aside from the targeting call, I thought OSU went after Trevor's head a couple of times. As a whole, they were nothing close to Alabama.

There is a reason why self-confessed Clemson hater Jonathan Allen said DW4 was the mentally toughest opponent he ever faced.

Yes. Thought same of Alabama.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, yes. This was a dirty play

Jan 1, 2020, 12:55 PM

Elbow to Trevor’s knee clear as Day. Would have been ejected if refs saw it.

I thought there were 2 shots on Tlaw that were meant to hurt him and one was well after the whistle. "The elbow to the knee"

So yes
