Apparently his dad had an issue with his chair at a UGA event and led to his finger being partially amputated. Rumor is the lawsuit is a hope he can transfer and play immediately.

WoW? C'mon, this cant be true?
He played in 25 games in 2 yrs and started 18 games as a true Fr/Sph. Player that I thought got away? Interestingly enough, still eligible.

Anyone dumb enough to get his finger caught in a chair and then apply enough pressure to shoot the finger across the room deserves nothing in return. Would like to see a video of that hit YouTube as a safety teaching point.

Plus how are you losing income by losing the tip of your finger? I know people who work with several complete fingers missing. If I was a judge I would laugh his stupid ### right out of my court room. I would also tell him to be careful getting out of the chair before he leaves and laugh again.

What! How does his dad pinching his finger have anything to do with the NCAA? What a sue happy society we have become, no one takes personal responsibility for accidents anymore, it’s all about getting a quick buck. Just sad.

No, his dad is. I am sure this was offered a settlement and UGA tried their best to be as accommodating as they could here. I am sure money wasn't a problem. He wants out now that Pittman is gone, and his brother is at UT, this is just an excuse. In my opinion he should have to sit a year but the NCAA will cave, and we are seeing the beginning of mass exoduses when coaches leave a school many players will leave. Sad for the game but it is what it is!
