if the injury impacts his draft status. The more prudent move may have been for him to purchase an insurance policy, play at Bama another year, and prove that he has fully recovered from the injury.
We've all been told the surgery was successful. However, that’s successful by the surgeon’s standards, not necessarily NFL standards.
Not all teams have the same standards for risk/reward analysis when it comes to evaluating players with question marks surrounding their status.

If he isn't a 1st round pick idk who is. Watson tore his ACL twice and threw nearly 20 INTs his final season and I bet you thought he was a surefire 1st rounder (as did I). Tua is great, he's had a freak injury and he's recovered fast. I think he's a top 10 pick even.

At this point, while may have recovered fast, that does not mean he is capable of withstanding the physical playing demands of an NFL QB.

Watson didn't tear second ACL until he was with Houston.

He was definitely labeled as injury prone for awhile.

If I was in charge of the draft for an NFL team, I wouldn't take a chance with a first round draft pick on Tua. Maybe a mid-second round or third round pick for sure. Unless I had a stacked team with an established QB, and could afford to take a chance on letting him rehab without the pressure of needing to play immediately. He could either be the QB of the future for that team, or after he proves he can play again they could trade him to a team that needs a franchise QB for a couple of first round picks.

I don't think he'll fall past 18.

That will be the second pick for the Dolphins, and there are numerous teams 1-18 who are going to be looking for a QB.

Hes a 1st round pick unless he fails medicals

Before these injuries I think he would've been top 3 (probably right after Young and Burrow). I'm guessing he will still go in the top half of the 1st unless his medical evaluations are really bad.
