Boston butt smells funky

I bought a Boston butt last Friday that was 7lbs and was going to slow cook it in my smoker. Supposed to be good till Dec 2. I ended up cutting it in half because it was so big and wasn't trying to cook for 13 hrs. Put the bone in piece on the smoker and left other half in bag and was gonna cook it tmr. What i cooked last week turned out great. Nice Smokey flavor and pulled right apart. Went to the fridge earlier to put a rub on the left over half and it had a sulfer smell to it, not strong but noticebale. Assuming would have been good till Dec 2 if left vacuum sealed and prolly should have put other have in freeze till today. Would you go ahead and cook it tmr or throw it out and grab something tmr to cook.

I would not chance it. Sometimes you can wash meat off and it will be O.K. but don't know about this situation.

I hate wasting things. But I’ve had food poisoning before... and I’ll tell ya as much as I hate wasting, I’ll never eat something if I think something has a chance to cause that again. This is one of those times lol.
