Prediction: Named starter after Auburn game

Clemson is still searching for Deshaun Watson's successor, and the competition may linger into the regular season.

But once Dabo Swinney watches Hunter Johnson command the offense during an important home victory over Auburn in Week 2, the 10th-year coach will put his trust in the first-year quarterback.

Johnson, the No. 5 quarterback prospect in 2017, enrolled in January and participated in spring practice. He entered the summer behind Kelly Bryant on the depth chart, but a strong fall camp will result in Johnson securing an early opportunity to share snaps.

And that'll be all he needs.

Kelly Bryant proves everyone wrong and has a great year, HJ dukes it out with TL for the reigns in 2018.

OR

HJ takes over a few games in, and KB comes in on specialty wildcat formations.

My guess is HJ to start after game 6, but I'm not going to argue your prediction too much. However, I think Dabo let's KB keep that job until something changes his mind. Right now, it's still KB's job to lose.

My Bold prediction is that HJ takes over after three games in 2017 after the tigers lose only 1 of the first 3 games but he saves the game in the third game solidifying his position. HJ then grows into an extremely solid QB that runs a super balanced Offense and goes on to start the following two years beating TL out for the starting position.
