The LSU Tigers on Wednesday informed the NCAA that it will self-impose a one-year bowl ban on its football team.

To be fair, they probably would qualify. South Carolina is being projected for bowl games at 2-8.

I didn’t either until I heard them talking about it towards the end of their game against Kentucky. Then I read some bowl projections the next day and saw them listed. I’m not really sure what the requirements are this season.

Very true, but self imposing this year will be better than next year. No telling how many bowl games will be cancelled.

How many years do you think it will be before it actually means something to them again though? I suspect they’re going to be bad for a while.

I was thinking the same. They may have picked the season because they might not be eligible in a normal year for a while.

That's a slap in the face to the teams that didn't break the rules. The ncaa should tell them this year doesn't count, and then nail them with lack of institutional control. Assaulting women and paying players doesn't look very good to anyone.
