Awful quiet the night before signing day... usually there's a little

Dec 15, 2020, 10:08 PM

scuttlebutt about a potential surprise, or at least a BS rumor or two. I guess the early Signing thing and classes getting locked up so early have removed all of the suspense. Yes, I realize Foreman is still out there.

A drunk will run a STOP sign, but a stoner will wait for it to turn green.

It's challenging to concentrate on it - if your the Clemson Staff - as the ACCCG prep is where your focus is on and "should be on"!
Whether a young man you have talked to over Zoom, Skype and Teams commits like he said, "verbally" or not is not going to change. Normally I suspect there are lots of last minute calls and such going on, but can you afford to take your eye off the ball right before the big game like that? I don't think so.

Trust we have made a convincing enough argument and then let the chips fall! Especially since next season you have the potential of having would be graduated players holding roster spots! How all of that gets managed in general will be a story by itself!

I think the staff worries less about things they can not control, like what is going through the mind of an 18 year old, compared to things they can control, like getting the team ready to beat ND. And generally your best recruiting tool is what you put on the field, so I think that is where their attention lies.

Like everything else they have taken all the fun out of it. Anyone remember Fax Girls standing by the machines.

BS rumor is that we even have a chance with Leigh. No chance IMO!
