Article on Army being left out....

Pretty sure that there could have been something done in this case.
The right thing would be for a loser team to simply give their spot to Army.
And what’s the deal with teams dodging Army?
Strange times these are in CFB.
This is something to actually be talking about, instead of the lame playoff expansion argument that espin has decided to push this year.

This is a golden opportunity for uof6c...

to, at least for once, demonstrate a high level of character and sportsmanship by allowing Army to take their place and play UAB in the Gasparilla Bowl.

Absolutely no one, not even uof6c fans, wants to watch a 2 - 8 team play in a bowl game. Why not save yourself further embarrassment and earn some sportsmanship points in the process.

There are some decent MAC teams such as Kent State and Western Michigan and MWC teams they should at least get.
Southern Cal would be a great match up but they opted out after losing to Oregon in PAC-12.

I want to know...

which teams opted out because they were afraid to be paired against Army.

There definitely should have a been a rule in place that every team with a winning record was in a bowl before any team with a losing record received an invite. I know COVID messed everything up, but a team with a losing record "earning" a bowl invite should never happen.

It’s not like a Power 5 team has anything to gain preparing for Army and the triple option attack with an average of 5 forward passes a game. That doesn’t prepare your young guys for all the other teams they will play in their conferences next year. And this is coming from a veteran of the US Army who has nothing but respect for the rigors those men put themselves through in addition to playing football.
