Anyone think this ranking is being used as a PR stunt?

I know Clemson opened the door with the 1-point win, but this thing has taken on a life of its own since. Everyone is talking about it--better PR could not be bought. There is no more "Meh, it's Bama and Clemson again."

Just a thought...

It is being used to drive TV ratings. 1 versus 3, 2 versus 4. The politics have begun to drive the committee. It happened so quickly...

At this point, I'm ready to entertain going to the NFL model. Win your division, otherwise shut up.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if they took the opinions out of it wouldn't Tigernet disappear ?
I haven't kept any official log but my gut tells me we're around 95/5 with the opinion to fact ratio around here .
