Any HVAC experts for troubleshooting 2nite?

Dec 2, 2017, 10:14 PM

Got a 1yr old...and the heat wont kick on.

System set to heat on thermostat. And after a while even turned the fan to ON. Still nothing. Got the heat set to 74 but its 67 in the house...and dropping.

sounds like your thermostat, I had the same problem a few weeks ago. try changing the batteries before you spend money on a replacement.

Should be 2 breakers . One for outside unit and another for air handler.
Other than that call your installer.

I used to be hvac technician...sounds like you are not getting 24v control voltage if even fan wont come on..breaker or transformer.

Not an expert by no means, but have experienced problems in the past. I would start by checking your breaker to make sure it hasn't tripped. It's probable that you have 2 breakers; One in the main panel and another near the unit itself.

if ti dies again, run to a 24 hour walmart and get yourself a space heater so your 1 year old can stay comfy.

is it a programmable t stat? could have a dead band set for 6° . So it will have to get 6 below setpoint to come on. Also did you change it shortly before it came on? if so I would say you are ok. I would leave the can in auto also.

Yea

Programmable. It clicks on. Then immediately clicks off.

Done that ab 3 times. I got it set on 78 now...room temp says 71.
