Question LSU

Jan 5, 2020, 5:37 PM

Other than an injured Tua who is the best quarterback LSU has faced all year that is actually an elite offense with an elite QB like Trevor?

I would say Jalen Hurts.

Elite like Clemson and Trevor is your question. No one even close.

Sam Ehlinger didn’t do too bad.
4 to and 401 yards passing.

Answer

Jan 5, 2020, 6:36 PM [ in reply to Re: Question LSU ]

Listing QBs by PASSER RATING:

Burrow is #1 (204.60)
Lawrence is #6 (173.25)
this list ignores quality of opposition

LSU played #2, 15, 17, 50, etc & Tua not listed bec injured, missed games & not qualify
Clem played #3, 10, 40, 47 and others worse than 50.

So the answer is YES, LSU faced some QBs that could play including one (191.20) rated above Lawrence (173.25) & another maybe rated higher.

LSU has thus a played higher rated QB (or 2)) than Lawrence. Clem hasn't played a QB as good as Burrow.

If they put in a Strength of Opposition correction the gap between Joe and Trevor would be much larger.

If you are suggesting using a bunch of statistics that LSU has faced a better qb than Trevor, you may want to watch more football with all due respect. Are you talking about Jalen Hurts,Tua,Bo Nix,Kellen Mond,Sam Ehlinger??If so,try again.

Just posted PASSING RATINGS, made nothing up. Suggesting nothing, just the facts as shown nationally.

Hurts has a higher passing rating than Trevor. If you disagree despite the objective numbers you shouldn't have asked the question of others, shoulda just stuck w/ your own opinion.

Tua may have also rated higher than Trevor, thought he did before going out, but dunno.

None of the others were listed or mentioned as being better than Trevor so see no reason to discuss them, just listed top QBs played by each team which you can see if you read.

Obviously you believe Joe Burrow is the best QB which is fine- but do you really believe the other quarterbacks with better QB ratings are truly better than Trevor Lawrence?

But he's still a good quarterback, so yes, we have faced a QB like Burrow.

You never answered my question on another thread about being a gamecoot fan, which you’ve proven to be. Anyways, Trevor averages nearly the same yards per rush as your first string RB. Keep sleeping and trollin and hopin.

This loss that ya'll are about to recieve from Clemson is gonna be harder on you than most because you'll be going back through all the statistics and trying to math-out what went wrong .

Correction to your post: Clemson played 3, 10, 16 and 40. That actually looks better than LSU with numbers 2, 15, 17 and 50.

Wait...when did quarterbacks start playing against other quarterbacks? Admirable display of statistics, but misdirected and thus, inapplicable.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

According to your list, Clemson has faced 2 top 10 QB's.

Tua played well, threw for 400 yds. No limp, no issues.

When he completed his last pass for a TD he was bouncing like he was on a trampoline.
Minutes later, as soon as the game was over, he was limping.

Usually Flopping is Tactical. That limp was Strategic, trying to lobby to still get in The Playoffs.

Go find the last play on UTube.

That fits your narrative and may make you feel better but Tua was not the same having had surgery 12 days before. Regardless, the facts are...Tua rushed for 17...yes SEVENTEEN...total yards this year. Trevor rushed for over 500 yards and in fact his per rush average was a third of Tua’s total rushing yards. If you think Tua compared to Trevor this year...you are quite simply reaching to passify your insecurity about this game.

Don’t look because it will give you panic attacks but our RB averages 8 yards per rush. That’s two guys averaging 5.5 yards or more per rush. On the field. At the same time. Against a 27th ranked defense.

Sorry but your data is as meaningless this year as it would have been last year had you done the same thing regarding BAMA.44-16 is the only relevant data as you will learn the hard way.

Better question for Clemson, how many bad passing attacks did your defense feast on this year?

LSU won a Ncaa record 6 games vs ap ranked top 10 teams while Clemson sleptwalked their way though the acc. Where do Clemson fans get off questioning caliber of competition for LSU? It’s not remotely close.

You should go do the research before posting your ignorance. Clemson faced more top 50 Power 5 passing teams than LSU. That mythical top 10 likes to be thrown around but it’s crap and everyone knows it, just like 5-loss Texas.

We've faced more top-25 offenses

Jan 5, 2020, 7:34 PM [ in reply to Re: Question LSU ]

Than LSU has

Clemson: OSU, UNC, Wake, Louisville
LSU: OU, Bama

I'd be willing to add a 4-win Ole Miss team since they did put up 400+ yards and 37 points

Counterpoint, Top 25 scoring offenses faced. How many points you score a game seems a bit more important than yards gained when it comes to the outcome.

LSU: Bama, Okla, Texas
Clem: OSU

SEC only has high rankings because they are ranked high at the beginning of the year(Fact) and for what ever reason($) they never drop out,.. See UGA, UF, AU etc., so the teams that LSU has played using the so called eye test are not much better than who Clemson has played. So trying to say LSU has beat all these top team’s don’t tell truly how good they are!
