Amazon Prime Video Watchlist

Saw we had a thread of Netflix recommendations so thought we could do the same for Amazon Prime Video: The Expanse Deadwood Black Sails Jack Ryan The Man In the High Castle The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Carnival Row (if you are a Sci-Fi/Fantasy or Steampunk fan)
If I had to choose only one series to watch it would be "The Expanse". It's a science fiction series but everyone I know that has watched it likes it - even those not prone to watching science fiction. It is well written, has realistic/good effects with an interesting plot line. Check it out - you'll be glad you did.

The Expanse and Carnival Row are top notch. Their budgets must have been huge. If you enjoy a good medieval story about on the formation of England, I recommend The Last Kingdom. It's based on the Saxon Chronicles series written by Bernard Cornwell. The fourth season will begin later this month. Here's the trailer from the first season: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxPApTGWwas

Last Kingdom is good but Vikings is better imo. Last Kingdom is on Netflix tho I thought. Vikings is on Prime. I have thought about watching carnival row but haven't yet. I'm guessing I need to go ahead and do it huh?

Last kingdom is great Also suggest Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton. Second season was a little weak but first and third were great

The Wire is the best show on Prime hands down.
Vikings is a pretty good show as well.
I loved Deadwood but it tailed off in the 3rd season imo.
I will have to try out The Expanse.

I would agree "The Expanse" is the place to start unless you despise Sci Fi.
"The Man in the High Castle" took me a few episodes to get into it, but we'll worth it.
I liked "Good Omens" a lot as well.
Older but still awesome and up there with the best series of all time is "The Wire"

Second those who love The Expanse. Hard SF, set in a realistic future. Huge budget. Huge vision. The last season played like a ten-hour movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X5gXIQmY-E
Banshee. The most underrated show of all time. Shot right up the road in Charlotte with a few scenes in Belton-Honea Path; anyone who's been through there will recognize it. Was missed because it was hiding out among the booby flicks on Cinemax...it definitely does not skimp on those, but it's a lot more like Breaking Bad with a lot more energy. And a lot more fun. Also has an absolutely perfect ending, unlike many other shows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI7haj7HTCA
Orphan Black. Cool little show that originally dropped on BBC America, got its own very devoted cult following. An English grifter living in America sees a woman on a subway platform who looks just like her...right before her double kills herself. The con woman makes the mistake of assuming the woman's identity...and very quickly discovers there was a real good reason her look-alike was jumping. Tatiana Maslany plays about 20 roles on this show and in a just world should win "most versatile actress" for the next 20 years running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do_BCA-vR9E
The Man in the High Castle. Set in an alternate America where the Axis won the war, a woman living in Japanese-occupied San Francisco comes into possession of a film...showing the Allied victory parade from our reality. And Hitler really, really wants that film. Dark and more than a bit slow at times...but extremely well done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzayf9GpXCI

I really liked Black Sails myself, I've watched the entire series twice. One of my favorite was Captain Flint, and that other pirate captain Charles Vane!!!

I binged it in about 6 weeks. It ruined any other show for me because nothing can compare.
