I could easily be one of the people in the picture.......

as I was in school during those days. I well remember downtown Clemson looking this way and the stores in the picture. Can't believe it's been 45 years or so ago now!

The Opel. Looks like a BMW 2002 in front of it. The MG across the street...

Chanellos was a life saver on late nights. Hot subs were great too. The routine was Bookstore, TTT and if too busy head to Sloan Street Tap Room for drinking with the Rugby animals! Later I graduated to Nicks as they had one of the first Ms Pac-Man.

Come to think of it, maybe that’s why I can’t remember much about campus life!!!!!!

Chanello’s pizza and sandwiches were the best! Hung out at the Bookstore, Penny Annie’s and TTT most of the time because I didn’t have a car. But walking was a good idea after those spots!

The early 70's drinking lineup was the Red Carpet, The Study Hall, and Scotty's. Then there was the 123 Truck stop on 123 before the Newry exit.

If I had to drive,I was heading to Lester's. What year did the Red Carpet change names to TTT? Aaaah, the cars of my youth. The cars my friends and I drove and took on many road trips included an Olds Cutlass, 66 Mustang, SS 396 Chevelle, Datsun 240Z, "Dukes Of Hazard" Dodge Charger (less the Confederate battle flag), and last but not least a Chevy van. Days of Thunder ---- and nights of fireworks!!!
