2020 Offensive Line Strength?

Jan 17, 2020, 10:07 PM

Any thoughts on how much drop off we'll feel with a rebuilt OL next seaon? What is the likely starting line?

- Jackson Carman - solid
- Matt Bockhorst - solid
- Cade Stewart - experienced but how did he do?
- Blake Vinson - experienced but how did he do?
- Chandler Reeves - experienced but how did he do?
- Will Putnam - Did he play this year? I think I've heard he could be good?
- Jordan McFadden - 2020 ??
- Hunter Rayburn - 2020 ??
- Others with real potential in 2020 ??

My personal thoughts are they will be more than solid, by the second half of the year.

This the only question the 2020 team will have to answer IMO! I think the DBs and LBs will be just fine.
The Starting 5 OL will be a solid group. Depth is a concern though..
LT Carman - Great
LG Brockhorst - Very Good
C Stewart or Rayburn - Average
RG Putnam - Very Good
LT McFadden - Average

My guess is G-Paul Ticho and OT-Walker Parks come in ready to contribute and possibly start by mid season. Remember we won the National Championship in 2016 with a Freshman (Sean Pollard) as the starting RT and Hyatt was a Sophomore.

We have them stacked up like cordwood by the fireplace...Boeting, Guynup, Trotter, Rayburn, Putnam, Vinson, Mays, Parks, Tchio, Tucker, Williams, Howard and the others...as the say in the fireplace business...somethings gonna burn!

I disagree on McFadden. He was scout team player of the year as a redshirt and had a really good year this year off the bench. I've heard DL players say he is a beast. I think he is going to be very good.

If ETN believes in them enough to come back, I think that's all we need to know.
