They found early cancer, stage 1. Surgery to cut about a foot of intestine out and the cancer was gone. 5 years of follow up visits and tests and cancer free now at 55. If you wait until symptoms show up, it's not pretty.
Not all polyps turn into cancer, but 90% of colon or rectal cancer starts with polyps. You snip them out before they grow and you never have to worry about them. I was low risk for colon cancer. Cancer doesn't care.

69 here. Endured 4 colonoscopies so far, and now told I'll enjoy 'em annually from now on. Last one showed polyp in mouth of my appendix. Had appendectomy last week and while the polyp was virtually nothing, the mucous membrane surrounding the appendix was about to rupture and would have killed me. So drink up. The results of not drinking the prep could be far worse!!

I started Clemson in '65 and finished the long Rat Season before my 17th birthday - also exempted my calculus exam that semester..... in the opposite direction - (average so low that a 100 on exam would not let me pass - result in change of major to avoid a repeat).

Organic Chemistry made CU students change their major. I had a grad student teaching us. The head of the department was the professor, but he let the grad student teach us. I had Professor Dunkel for calculus one semester. Dropped her cuz she hated men. Had her husband for engineering graphics. That was a snooze fest.

Oldest daughter graduated in 2016

We were there at the same time. Class of 86 (was on the 5-year plan - extra football season). Wife was class of 85. Unfortunately no kids attended due to growing up in New York. Weren't that interested I guess.
