Never asked here before but looking for some prayers for safety from the storm. I've made so many new Clemson friends just from picking up supplies. Pray for safety and quick recovery of everyone in this area.

My sister-in-law's 80 year old Dad lives on Emerald Isle, and is staying. Really worried for him.

Will be praying for him too! Morehead City is my favorite dive spot... wouldn’t want anyone in that are staying.

You have my prayers. This storm is likely a “century” storm which will be discussed one hundred years from now and it is growing in strength, size and destructive scope today.
I recall Hugo in 1989 with sustained winds of 105 in Camden overnight and hurricane force winds as far inland as Charlotte, but Florence is clearly stronger and all indications point to widespread impacts from winds and flooding.

Definitely. Sister in law lives in Leland at Magnolia Greens. She is CU '72. They've decided to ride it out.

No way, we lived in Mag Greens before moving to Southport. We actually drove down to North Augusta today. Wish the thing would just fizzle.

Does your area not have a mandatory evac? Strange that you're choosing to ride it out. I hope you come back and tell us you're safe in a few days. Whew. I would be heading for safety if possible. Good luck man.

I have three small children. Definitely did not choose to ride it out. Boarded up the house and headed to Charlotte to the in-laws. Didn't want to be sitting with three kids and no power/water for a week!

Those prayers are obviously working as the storm is getting weaker. This is great news for so many people. It seems we will be dealing with more of a large rain/flooding. Hopefully it will continue to slow down/weaken.

If anyone is evacuating inland and will be around Clemson on game night, maybe I can help.
I have a hotel reservation in Anderson for Saturday night. It’s just a simple room and it’s just the one night, but I know rooms are in short supply on game weekends to begin with and that there are likely to be a bunch of people looking for somewhere to go.
If anyone knows anyone who needs help, I’m happy to make room for a few people.

Will keep you in my prayers. Stay safe. May God Bless all of those in the path of Hurricane Florence. As soon as possible please let The Clemson Family know what is needed for the victims once the storm has passed through.

I will continue to pray for you and everyone else in or near this storm. This storm deserves our respect and preparation. I just hope and pray God watches over his children and if it is HIS will spares lives and suffering and protects us all.
