baseball program. I'm not looking at past history I'm talking about what is presently going on with each program.
As a Clemson did you ever think you would see this day?

Would surpass the success of the baseball program.
Never dreamed that it would be the baseball program's decline, rather than the basketball program's ascension, that would make it happen.
If you could have your choice and Clemson could be a "lower middle" team in one of those sports and an annual contender in the conference and perennial participant in the NCAA tournament, which would you choose? Easy for me, HOOPS!

In a league with Syracuse, Duke, UNC, Notre Dame, UVA, and a host of other quality basketball programs, the Tigers will have to be a lot better than good to have a chance at the 'big dance' at years end. Only so many teams from the ACC will be allowed to go and being a top 5 or 6 team in the league will not get you a chance at a title. Not true in baseball although the league is improving.

Maybe should have used "contender, or in the conversation"
Rephrasing, would you rather be more competitive in the conference and nationally in baseball or basketball?
Basketball - 20 wins/year, top 5 ACC, tourney slot, 2 sweet 16 every 5 years, elite 8 or higher at least once every 10 years
Or
Baseball - 50 wins/year, top 3 ACC, host regional, national seed once every 5 years, CWS twice every 5 years
