My eyesight is getting worse by the minute and I’m contrarian enough to not care what the rules are and creative enough to just make up my own rules right on the spot. I believe that makes me imminently qualified for that gig. I’m not going bald, but I’d be willing to shave my head for the right price.

Interesting. Is the awful bald ref a "thing" in the USA?

Here in the UK, my son and I regularly go to watch our local soccer team. The Assistant Referees carry flags, one a plain yellow, the other a chequered yellow and orange. We have a theory, which has been proved many times, that the awful Asst Ref is the one carrying the chequered flag.
