It's going to use it's preseason projections until it gets real data from this season. Ohio State's rating will not change in any of these models until they play a game, and it's unlikely that Clemson or Bama will catch them given their current rating.

So get used to seeing Ohio State at #1 in these things because they are probably going to be there for at least another month.

I need an expert to explain this to me.

Clemson beats Ohio State in the first round of the playoffs in 2019. In Apr of 2020, 9 Ohio State players are drafted into the NFL

Now Ohio State is better than Clemson.
