OT>>Is it considered rude to dip ....

Mar 8, 2020, 8:59 PM

your bread into your red wine when eating out at the Italian restaurant , or any restaurant ? My wife fusses at me when I do it , but I don't think it is that big of a deal .

Emily Post says dipping the toast in the red wine is the correct way. Some people prefer pouring the wine on their toast but that can get messy and is considered gauche.

I think I would have to pour a bit of wine in a little side bowl if I wanted to do that.
