Not interested in the recent line of Coke bottles

Aug 5, 2019, 2:01 PM

They just don't even compare to the original one back in 81. It was bigger, bolder with the orange paw on the white background, and was printed rather than, as I understand it now, shrink wrapped (could be wrong). I tried to grab some back in 2017, but now am quite content without them and with my very nice and in immaculate condition 1981 bottle (unlike the 81 orange soda cans, both of which ate up the bottom of the can and leaked out - still have the cans, though!).

I can echo your sentiments on not needing them.

I have other collectibles that are much more meaningful from the recent Natty's. I do have a 2017 bottle and can confirm that is it is printed on the bottle. It has the Clemson National Championship logo as well as "All In 35-31" all printed.

Better news is, they still go for a couple bucks on Ebay

Even if you're 8 yr old opens it and tries to drink it.

I like them and I'll do my damndest to get this years. They shouldn't be the BS shrink wrap ones.

They appear to be painted on this year. Still not the size or quality of the 1981 bottles.

We'll need somebody to run over to Godfrey to confirm but

I imagine those things are pad printed.

BTW, the 1981 bottles had the Paw turned wrong.

Does a 6 pack come with choice of free Bobblehead or a Fanatics unisex T-shirt?

It really is a nice piece. They have one for 2016 and even one for 1981 (obviously not aged).

I have a Manos for all 3 Natty's, VERY nice.***

You are correct the 1981 bottles were bigger and had more Clemson Orange on the bottle. The cans leaks causing damage to several important papers. This years bottles are smaller and you need a magnifying glass to read the Clemson logo and the date.

You can always just get one of these nice glasses and fill it with coke or Pepsi or tea. Nice big logos and the full schedule on the back. It’s like the Coca Cola bottlers aren’t even trying. The fact that Pepsi got the paw turned properly way back in 1974 and Coke screwed it up for the biggest commemorative run in 1981 made me a Pepsi man from then on. ??
