By not playing this week, does an undefeated ND get jumped and fall to #4

Nov 28, 2018, 8:26 AM

I know that would mean being jumped by a team with one loss but my thought is ND would be weakest of 4 teams and committee may sense that too. Give Bama the perceived easiest route. Just my thought

Plus, it eliminates potential Bama-OU in Dallas***

If Bama and Clemson win, I doubt the Committee

Nov 28, 2018, 8:31 AM

will try to overcomplicate their job, and, hence, I would expect the top three to remain the same.

In fact I believe both will win, thus making the choice for #4 the question.

I could see that...

OU could very well get the 3 seed.
If OSU wins (w/ OU loss), OSU would move to 4 assuming Bama wins and ND stay 3.

I think OU would be the greater challenge to either Bama or Clemson.
If determining best teams, OU would be 3 and ND 4.

The committee will reseed the final four...

Nov 28, 2018, 8:34 AM

to get the match-ups they want and to eliminate a home field advantage for OU in Dallas should they get in.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Where has this notion come from that the committee is

Nov 28, 2018, 8:34 AM

always stumping for Bama and the SEC? There are members from all different conferences and backgrounds on the committee, and the current chairman is the Oregon athletic director. Why in the hell would he risk his integrity to prop up Alabama?

Well considering that they have been in it all 4 years and they have had to travel past Texas once and that was in the Natty vs us in 15-16....Everything has been literally Dallas or NO....and of course vs teams to the likes of Washington and Mich St...

THIS ***

Last season 'bamer got in by default. Same thing this year. If 'bamer loses they need ou and o31o both to lose. A 1 loss 'bamer would get in over a 3 loss pac champ, a 9-4 NW, and a 10 - 3 texas. Who else would you put in ? I would like to see UCF if they are still undefeated, but it will never happen.

No

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep. They'll set it up to give Bama the easiest route IF

Nov 28, 2018, 8:40 AM

Bama wins this weekend.

And it is justified if they win big and since ND does not play. Bama would KILL ND. Basically a first round bye, like they had when they played Michigan State.

Then assuming we win (please Lord), it's OU or OSU for us, assuming they take care of business. Georgia or UCF could possibly get in as well.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

If Bama wins and we win, the first 3 spots are already known. Nothing will change. ND will be playing us. There is nothing to shake out really, other than who is playing in that 4th spot vs Bama.

I agree with easiest route and that’s why I think ND to #4

Nov 28, 2018, 8:55 AM

I think OU is more challenging than ND even with no defense.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No. If Oklahoma is #4 they'll just put
