They were holding all night. So was OSU.

Jan 14, 2020, 12:56 AM

You know why? Because the NCAA has de-prioritized holding calls in an attempt to increase offensive output.

So with this being common knowledge, WHY DOESN’T CALDWELL STOP TEACHING HIS 1976 INSIDE-THE-PADS, CLOSED FIST BLOCKING TECHNIQUE AND GET WITH THE TIMES????

So did you. Its always easy to see holds that are committed against you.

I wish we were. We need to.

Two handfuls of Jersey sleeve is fair game in 2019/20. It’s sad no one has told our line coach.

I’m not complaining about you—kudos to your position coaches for recognizing the trend and adjusting accordingly.

We found out the hard way. Michigan and Wisconsin held chase young the entire game and not a single flag.

Uh, no. . .

Look, LSU won, but that ole argument that it always is an wash of equally missed calls is false. CU did not hold all night. LSUs left DT #76 held on a *mind boggling* plethora of plays (vs a backup no less!), including 2 TD plays. It was atrocious. There is no equivalence at all. None. Now, I am not saying Clemson would have otherwise won the game. I don't know that. I accept LSU is the winner and champ. They looked better from the 2nd Q onward.

C'mon man both teams held. The more noticeable non holding call was Travis not holding the football more. Literally the only offensive star playing to his abilities tonight.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bro, literally every team has modified their blocking

Jan 14, 2020, 1:18 AM

Technique to take advantage of the new looser standards for a holding call. It’s smart coaching. Don’t believe me? Look up the number of OL holding calls per game in 2010 and look at them now. It’s by design.

We are still going old school with OL technique. It’s a massive disadvantage.

That may be, but

Jan 14, 2020, 1:31 AM

what LSUs Dline got away with tonight has almost nothing to do with the new rules. (Even if we don't utilize them ourselves). We are talking about outright holds galore. not jersey grabbing.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No,

Everyone always makes that blanket statement that "both teams held," as if it's always necessarily an equivalence. But it wasn't. Not even close. Not the same solar system. What #76, alone, for LSU got away with tonight is absolutely mind blowing. He should get credit for two TDs and multiple other first downs.
