New Story: Numbers back up talk of offensive struggles

Numbers back up talk of offensive struggles

There has been a lot of talk about the struggles the Clemson offense has faced in its first two games – albeit wins – as the offense hasn’t been able to get into much of a rhythm. The NCAA’s statistical rankings back up that talk. Full Story »

That "rhythm" will be very elusive until we block somebody.

And none of these numbers mean a thing right now with so many teams playing two cream puff games inflating their stats. That doesn't mean our numbers are good cuz they're still not, but national rankings mean nothing right now

don't read or believe what has been prior written about the team and Heisman odds. Not playing with a chip on the shoulder. Last and not least...playing with no fun, no confidence and surly having regrets. Let it go and leave nothing out.

Waton's yards per attempt are way down to 5.6

from 8.6 last year. Team yards per carry also down from 4.9 to 3.6. Need to get the OL and the running game fixed to open everything else up.

The MAIN Problem with our offense is...

Currently, the O Line is the main issue. Rewatch the Auburn and Troy games and you'll see it. You'll see some sparks of greatness, but you'll mostly just see some poor play from those guys. A subpar O Line makes Watson and Gallman hesitate and uncomfortable in the backfield, which leads to a poor run game and scattered plays. We know the Line can do better. Whether they need to become more physically fit or just need to bond one weekend with Watson and company, I trust Dabo and the boys to rally up a great team of guys.
