They will file a petition that first down markers should be put in the middle of the field so that their players will know how much further to go, even without looking to the sidelines.

They would cry about that also. They didn't know how far to go before they run out of bounds to stop the clock. Those idiots don't understand that if they keep running in bounds, they may find the goal line.
