After all the hype I still think it boils down to this...Avoiding huge momentum swings (safeties getting burned deep) or us getting beat underneath in man coverage, their O versus our D Is a stalemate, we’ll trade punches. On the flip side, our O, avoiding turnovers, should be significantly better than their D. In my opinion, on paper, we should win this game by 10, and as the over/under increases, so does the point differential.
Anything can happen in college football, but if you take away the variables, it’s strength vs. strength and strength vs. LSU D Is not quite there yet. Don’t bite on the hype, we are the more complete team.
I agree with your analysis. I think that our defense can slow Burrow down, and we will limit them to a max of 30 points. On the other hand, I don't think their defense can compete with our offense. I see our offense scoring no fewer than 42 points, and then only because our play-calling will get conservative. Look for the Tigers to be up 35-30 late in the 4th quarter with LSU driving... and for the mighty Joe Burrow to get hurried and throw a pick-six... to none other than Tanner Muse. Final score, Orange Tigers 42 Yellow Tigers 30.
