Morgan Roberts and QB Question

I was reading that Morgan Roberts has asked for his release and hopes to transfer to Yale. I will assume he has read the depth charts and wants to play football knowing his chance at Clemson is not very good. So I take a look at the roster chart posted on TNet. There are 7 QBs listed on the team. My question is why? Beyond Stoudt and Kelly, I have never heard of the others. Can someone help me on this subject?

6 is ideal. You need QBs for injuries, transfers, nfl departures (i.e. UMD) and you need them to practice with defense and offense. Plus girls need them at frat parties telling all they are next up after Tajh.

A couple are walk-ons and have ambitions to be coaches

Thank you for that link. But in fact, that is six scholies according to that list. The 7th QB is Nick Schuessler who is a transfer from Ole Miss. He is listed on the roster. He had to sit out a year and I assume he will get a scholie at some time. I still don't understand why so many.

for a year maybe longer. why leave it unused?
