Miami could go 11-1

Aug 24, 2019, 11:34 PM

It is quite possible Miami could be 11-1 and play Clemson in ACC Title game.

Three things 1) Both teams very undisciplined 2) Franks from Florida is a child 3) Mullen won’t last

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think we were watching two really bad teams tonight.

Aug 24, 2019, 11:35 PM

But man, I totally agree with you on all three of your points.

Both teams will end the season with at least 5 losses. Other than that I actually agree with your post for once.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

By this logic, so could Sakerlina.

Both FLA & Miami are talented but are garbage

Aug 24, 2019, 11:44 PM

I wanted to wager the + 7.5 on Miami but have no faith in them. Both Miami and UF do less with more than any two teams in the country. Both would get absolutely trounced by an elite team.

No chance in hell Miami goes 11-1 with that o-line. Their QB played great but zero chance he's healthy thru out the season. Tathan and Nakosi Perry will both play due to that. That saying their defense is very good.

Re: Miami could go 11-1

Aug 25, 2019, 2:26 AM

No way they could go 11-1 with that offensive coord
He did not protect his qb with that line. His game plan looked liked a plan for a veteran front line and qb. If he doesn’t roll his qb out, i doubt he will last the whole season.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, he was at Bama last year. Not impressing anyone at

Miami could go 11-1; and winged monkeys might fly out my b*tt

Aug 25, 2019, 12:18 AM

"Miami could go 11-1" - not with that offensive line they won't. Granted this is the first game of the year for thug U, but they were very unimpressive to say the least. The Miami offensive line could give FSU a run for worst offensive line in the ACC; the Miami defense does a poor job of tackling, and they are undisciplined with penalties beyond first game "jitters". Maybe Miami should focus less on sideline gimmicks (turnover chain/touchdown "knuckles") and spend more time being a disciplined football team.

If you want a laugh - go over to the Miami boards and read some of their comments. They are already calling Manny Diaz the "Cuban Randy Shannon". After watching Miami tonight, I tend to think UVA has a lot better chance of winning the Coastal. UVA has the best QB in the coastal, a good defense, and an experienced coaching staff.

As far as Florida goes... Feleipe Franks is a mediocre QB. Good enough to win some games but doesn't have the chops to lead Florida to a championship. How good is Florida's defense? Who knows - until we see Florida play against an offensive line that doesn't have their cleats glued to the turf it is kind of hard to tell...

Pretty much nailed it. First Diaz keeps the thug tradition intact .... not a good thing in my opinion. It was obvious this was his first game as head coach as he hasn't paid attention to the little detail about game management (not play calling, just getting guys on the field ready to play, get calls from the sideline and execute). Their QB has to get rid of the ball, especially knowing after the first 5 sacks that they could not protect him. I'm not sure who it is that they are going to beat.

We learned 1 thing

Aug 25, 2019, 12:40 AM

Florida isnt number 8.

Miami, 11-1 ????????

I’m thinking that team is more like 1-11. If they manage to go 11-1 it would represent the biggest shock in history of sports. Yes, history. I watched a terrible football team almost beat another terrible football team (1st game BS is not an excuse for #### play) and just crap their pants at every turn. Bad football is being polite!!

1 - No discipline
2 - No QB play
3 - No teamwork/chemistry
4 - No coaching for accountability
5 - No assignment/containment
6 - NO chance they are a contender for anything more than a low level bowl, unless there is a LOT of improvement.

They are young, but it seems that “swag” culture at UM has taken over. Manny Diaz has his hands full, lots of talent but not much else.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you forget how bad the coastal is though

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

sec least is one of the worst divisions in Cfb. Florida will end up

Aug 25, 2019, 8:42 AM

Being near the top. You will look great against pitiful opponents. Only to lose on a “smart” play against Alabama. The good news is you won’t spend any money on the cfp this year. It’s getting expensive to be a Clemson fan.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I actually think that division is pretty good.

Aug 25, 2019, 8:51 AM

I mean there are only 8 divisions in the P5 and it's clearly better than half of them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not with that OL

Winning the coastal isn't out of the question but they are going to lose a few.

Re: Miami could go 11-1

Aug 25, 2019, 10:09 AM

Oh boy, where to start... Diaz and his coordinators were lost. As the game progressed, they made no adjustments. The QB ran for his life over and over. No roll outs, draws, and only a few screens.

The D did ok but their secondary were bad. Good thing Franks can’t read a field or complete a forward pass....

Hard game to watch.

Aug 25, 2019, 12:08 PM

You can't judge a lot on the first game. Sometimes they look a little ratty. But I still don't see them winning out. I can see 2 or 3 good chances at loses.
